THE ROSTER

SOUND ARCHITECTS AND LIVE PERFORMERS REIMAGINING AND RE-CODING THE GLOBAL DANCEFLOOR.

The Roster Division

A CAREFULLY CURATED DIVISION OF RULEBREAKERS — SOUND ARCHITECTS RE-CODING THE GLOBAL DANCEFLOOR, SHAPING CONTEMPORARY ELECTRONIC SOUND.

The Roster Division is the home of our DJs, producers, and sound artists — a curated line-up who treat the club as a working studio. Every name in the ring is chosen for alignment first, then craft. This is our hallmark. The roster reads as one body rather than a collection.

Live Acts

STARTING WITH ANOUCHKA GWEN

The live roster has begun with Anouchka Gwen. Her voice is the centre of it, warm and precise, backed by a band that locks in and lets the room open up, or a solo where every individual in the audience gets a deeper. more intimate experience of her soulful performances. She represents the direction this division is moving: artists who personify vulnerability in front of an audience.

She is the first, not the last. We are looking forward to future developments with the live roster, and to the names we will announce as it grows.

Who We Are
/ WHO WE ARE

A ROSTER OF PRACTICES

KA-RABA's sonic education and experience as a master selecta allows her to curate and shape the space for the artist and patrons. Foncé, DJ and poet. SAHARAA carries a griot lineage onto the floor. Anouchka Gwen's intimate solos, Hausvrau's high energy Brazilian Funk and Ballroom productions, Phum's soothing, sultry R n B, Malefi's high energy sets are playful and explores genres. And Maldita Vaina, Dominican-Sudanese DJ/Producer, brings a very unique sound with her mixes and productions. Each artist brings something different to the ecosystem.

Choosing them is a deliberate act. We look for alignment first, craft, and uniqueness. A producer who understands sound as architecture. A curator who reads a room like a score. A live act who treats every show as a shared moment. When those practices sit together, the roster stops being a collection artist and becomes a living body of art.

Alignment
/ ALIGNMENT

CHOSEN ON PURPOSE

We vet heavily, and not just for talent. Alignment matters more. Every artist in the ecosystem can testify to what changed once they joined, and each story reads differently. That is not an accident. It happens because no two artists arrive at the same place in their careers. One is redefining a craft. Another is testing their limits. A third is producing a new expression of themselves. The ecosystem meets each of them where they are.

That is the point of shared resources. When an artist needs a platform, a stage, a studio, or a collaborator, it exists inside the ecosystem rather than outside of it. The benefit is real because the structure is real. We do not force a fit, we build the grid around the people who belong in it.

FONCÉ
/ The Roster

FONCÉ

FONCÉ is a multidimensional poet and cultural worker based in Zurich. At the core of their practices are poetic storytelling and re/dis-membering through expansive listening. FONCÉ's creative expressions mirror their processes of un-becoming by weaving together different artistic mediums such as writing, sound production, DJing and curating. They are curious about collectively re-writing and re-assembling embodied narratives, while drawing knowledge from lived experiences.

HAUSVRAU

HAUSVRAU is a very needed breath of fresh air to the current concept of electronic music (DJ/Producer); candidly raw, unapologetically herself, and impossible to pin down. Her debut album QUEIMA POCOTÓ is out released under OKRA Ecosystem's management: sixteen tracks of Brazilian funk, ballroom energy, and club-ready heat, with a short film and a music video on the way. Download the album here&nbsp;<a href="https://hausvrau.bandcamp.com/album/queima-pocot">https://hausvrau.bandcamp.com/album/queima-pocot</a>.

MALDITA VAINA

MALDITA VAINA

For Maldita Vaina, a Dominican-Sudanese, trans non-binary DJ, music and sound are technologies that have sustained BIPOC stories and histories often left unwritten. Blending and mixing represent an opportunity to create counter-narratives, activated by movement. Maldita Vaina's sets juxtapose Caribbean riddims, African electronica, and Afro and Arab diasporic club sounds. Centering Black, trans, and queer producers, their sets are playful, high energy and percussive; polyrhythmic tracks interlaced with deep Dembow cuts, Dominican Palos, and Gaga. They turn dancefloors across the world into spaces of fugitivity and collective reimagination.
